How to play Chess 2D
Chess 2D is a standard game of chess against the computer on a flat board. It highlights every legal move for the piece you pick, with different colors for special moves such as castling and en passant, so it is a friendly place to learn the rules or practice without needing an opponent.
The goal is the standard one: trap the opposing king so it cannot escape capture, which is called checkmate. The move hints make it easy to see why a move is legal.
Tips for Chess 2D
- Control the center early with a pawn or two, then develop your knights and bishops before moving the same piece twice.
- Castle early. It protects your king and brings a rook into the game in one move.
