UNDERGROUNDGAMES

Browser games FAQ

Short answers to the questions we get most often.

Are the games really free?

Yes. Every game on Underground Games is free to play, with no account and no download.

Where do the games come from?

The games are embedded from the GamePix catalogue, a library that game studios publish to so that sites like this one can show them. The games belong to their creators, and Underground Games is a portal that lists them. Each game page links to the game inside a frame, so you play it where it is hosted.

Why does a game take a while to load?

Larger games, especially 3D ones, download a few megabytes before they start. The first load is the slowest. After that, your browser keeps some of the files, so the same game usually starts faster next time.

Can I play on my phone?

Most games work on phones and tablets, but some are built for a keyboard. Touch games like swipe-based puzzles feel natural on a phone. Games that need several keys at once are better on a computer.

Does my progress save?

Often yes, but only in that browser. Progress is usually stored in your browser's local storage, so a different device or a cleared cache starts you from the beginning.

Why is the game cut off or too small?

Press the Fullscreen button above the game. If it still looks wrong, rotate your device. Some games are built for portrait screens and some for landscape.

How can I request a game?

Use the request form on the About page. We add games from the catalogue regularly, and requests help us decide what to look at first.
